Hi Ethan thanks for sharing that story, I too was curious about your conversion experience. I just wanted to add that some Christian churches have also been guilty of this type of 'financial' sin. My father, who is now deceased, told me when I was a child that his family (Italian) had had wealthy relatives in Argentina who actually bought the front 2 pews in the church they attended which had locked gates on them and only they could sit there. If they were not at Mass, the pews remained empty. Even as a kid I thought there is no way Jesus would have approved of that!
